PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for the maintenance of the buildings. Completes preventative maintenance, installs new equipment, and assists with routine building maintenance, building inspections and ensure the quality of work done.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Trade Test / Technical Certification in a relevant field (Electrical, Plumbing or related) is an advantage.
- 3–5 years’ experience in building, facilities, or commercial maintenance, preferably in a mall, retail centre, or large commercial property environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversee and resolve all maintenance and operational issues across the company’s managed properties.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks and repairs are completed promptly, cost‑effectively, and to a consistently high standard.
- Form part of the morning briefing sessions and give feedback on all outstanding job cards of the previous day.
- Ensure open communication with Service Providers on quality of work performed when visiting the sites including Security and Cleaning
- Collect required parts and materials from approved suppliers using authorised purchase orders, and submit all delivery notes/invoices to the line manager daily.
- Maintain clean, secure, and well‑kept building areas, service corridors, common spaces, and exterior grounds.
- Conduct regular property and mall inspections to identify maintenance needs, wear‑and‑tear, and general infrastructure concerns and report to line manager.
- Identify safety risks or potential hazards and escalate any issues requiring specialist support or contractor intervention.
- Respond swiftly and professionally to tenant maintenance requests, ensuring a high level of customer service and operational support.
- Assist the line manager with daily, weekly, and monthly property and building inspections across assigned sites.
- Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements when performing work.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and maintenance resources are kept in good working order, properly maintained, and securely stored while on company premises.
