PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To ensure the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities by optimizing resources, minimizing downtime, and improving plant reliability. The Maintenance Planner will play a key role in the administration of SAP PM systems, shutdown management, asset care, and financial control within a fast-paced dairy manufacturing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
• National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance planning role within FMCG, preferably dairy.
• Solid knowledge of maintenance planning principles and asset management.
• Understanding of budgeting and cost control in engineering environments.
• Experience with shutdown planning and execution is essential.
• Proficient in SAP PM and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of ISO 45001.
• Knowledge in project management.
KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:
• Maintain and execute cleaning at the Admin/ Engineering block
• Analyze problem units and equipment based on failure trends and frequency.
• Develop, maintain, and verify maintenance performance data for accuracy and integrity.
• Support the development and updating of preventative maintenance schedules.
• Maintain and update master data within the SAP system.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of critical spares and stock.
• Effectively implement the site maintenance strategy.
• Conduct post-shutdown analyses to evaluate effectiveness and improvement
• Report and document shutdown results and lessons learned.
• Inspect equipment and plant installations during shutdowns to ensure readiness and compliance.
• System Administration & Optimization (SAP)
• Budget and Financial Control
• Assist with ongoing asset management strategies and documentation.
• Manage and oversee contractor performance related to asset care and maintenance.
• Assist in reporting and investigation of injuries and illnesses arising from workplace activities, recommending corrective actions to prevent or minimize the chance of recurrence.
• Collaborate with the permit-to-work system to ensure safety between processing and artisans.
• Conduct plant inspections weekly and log jobs and discrepancies as necessary.
