PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To operate the Multi-vac machine according to packaging procedures, as well as to pack and vacuum all products in the right packaging material as per consolidated order and production plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

• Grade 12
• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position or previous experience as a Multi-vac Machine Operator
• Sound knowledge on Health, Safety & Hygiene
• Computer literacy (MS Office) 

KEY JOB OUTPUTS:

•  Switch on air & water; check machine temperature.
•  Prepare base, lidding & machine programming.
•  Adjust printer dates & label products correctly (packaging/expiry).
•  Store products in cooler (FIFO).
•  Report malfunctions & poor-quality products immediately.
•  Apply preventative maintenance & perform daily/weekly care.
•  Remove water in Multivac when full.
•  Complete machine checklists when products/packaging change.
•  Weigh products, record on production sheet & submit to Supervisor.
•  Assist with movement & counting of stock weekly and month-end.
•  Assist in other areas as requested by Management.
•  Adhere to quality standards.
•  Perform start-up/packaging checks (leaks, expiry, weight, sealing).
•  Report any quality issues immediately.
•  Follow “clean as you go” principles.
•  Adhere to GMP, GHP, cold chain & HSE regulations.
•  Wear full PPE, sanitize hands & wash gumboots before entry.
•  Clean/sanitize machines, tools & work areas.
•  Switch off machines, close water/air outlets, clean areas at close of business.
•  Store all removable machine parts correctly.
