PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To sort, count, label, weigh, pack products, and cut sausages according to the slicing plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
• Grade 12
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of basic numeric skills
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene
• Basic computer skills

KEY JOB OUTPUTS:
• Cut and layer cold processed meat polonies before vacuuming
• Double-check if the correct labels are on the products and place them in crates as per the required number
• Assist in packing on the Multivac from time to time as requested by the Supervisor for Slicing and Packaging
• Receive/pick products from production for slicing and packaging
• Push trolleys to Production
• Cut sausages that just came out of production
• Assist the Line Manager in moving crates and boxes (products) during weekly and monthly stocktake
• Assist the Line Manager in counting stock during weekly and monthly stocktake
• Assist in any area/job as requested by Management
• Adhere to company quality regulations
• Identify faults and report any quality issues to the superior
• Clean the area of operations at all times, in line with the “clean as you go” principles
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing and Good Hygiene Practices
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and report deviations and incidents to the Supervisor/Team Leader
• Wear full PPE before commencement of duty
• Wash and sanitize hands before entering the factory
• Wash gumboots at the factory entrance
• Adhere to company cold chain regulations
• Clean and sanitize machines, equipment, work areas, and containers/mini cars/crates to kill bacteria, in line with food safety requirements
• Check that all machines are switched off and close all water taps and air outlets at the close of business
• Clean all areas and leave them in a hygienic condition at the close of business
• Cut nets, pack rolls, and place them in crates
• Store all finished products in the cooler, according to FIFO
