PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  


The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of filling and packaging lines with a strong emphasis on quality systems. This position ensures compliance with production targets, continuous improvement, and a high-performance quality management system (QMS). The role requires leadership, process discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory standards.
 
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:


•    Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Food Science Technology, Engineering or Business Administration
•    Minimum 3–5 years’ supervisory experience in a Packaging or FMCG environment.
 
KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:


•    Lead day-to-day operations of packaging lines, ensuring production schedules are met with minimal waste and maximum efficiency.
•    Ensure daily adherence to production plans, shop floor quality, standard work, and safety protocols.
•    Coordinate shift handovers and facilitate tiered meetings using visual management tools, to drive improvement on OEE, PTU and good quality production output.
•    Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, yield, downtime, scrap, and implement improvement initiatives.
•    Monitor and sign off production records and report to Team Leader Packaging areas of improvement and act on non-compliances.
•    Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, deviation reports, and line clearance checklists.
•    Assist in the preparation and control of departmental maintenance budgets.
•    Analyze high-maintenance cost items and present findings for cost optimization.
•    Ensure efficient spares inventory management to reduce waste and redundancy.
•    Interpret production schedules and adjust resources accordingly.
•    Optimize changeovers, setups, and shift handovers.
