PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To manage the company's purchasing of goods and services by identifying needs, researching and sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and supply agreements, and ensuring all products and materials meet company standards and cost-effectiveness.
KEY JOB OUTPUTS:
- Procure material and services in line with agreed forecasts and planning goals by reviewing requirements on MRP.
- Evaluate and manage optimal inventory levels and consider supply chain constraints when purchasing to avoid stock outs.
- Manage warehouse space by optimizing stock on hand.
- Plan, oversee and assist with the monthly stock counts, investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure optimal stock turnaround times to avoid stock expiring.
- Daily stock level monitoring and management to ensure on time in full.
- Negotiate and compare prices by regularly sending out RFQs to control and reduce spend.
- Initiate purchase- and service level agreements.
- Maintain SYSTEM contract and follow up on and take corrective action on discrepancies from Supplier invoices.
- Monthly supplier performance evaluation (Evaluate KPI’s with suppliers and initiate improvements with key suppliers).
- Scrutinize Vendor applications ensuring Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
- Address non-conformances relating to faulty material with relevant Supplier
- Ensure correctness of Master Data and MRP Data
- Lead the O&L Persona at Hartlief and manage direct reporting staff performance and development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Economics
- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in Procurement field with 2 years leading a team.
- Code B Driver’s License
- Experience working on SAP System and in a meat or FMCG Industry will be an added advantage
