PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To produce a variety of high‑quality and fresh bread specialties by consistently following production recipes, meeting production schedules, and supporting customer needs to ensure profitability and service excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• National Senior Secondary Certificate (Grade 11/12).
• Minimum 2–3 years’ bakery and/or retail experience.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Diploma or certificate in Bakery Production.
• Additional bakery certification or formal bakery training.
• Ability to read and understand a variety of production recipes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Production

• Produce a wide range of bread and bakery products with consistent quality and accuracy.
• Meet daily production requirements in line with production schedules.
• Maintain correct weight control by measuring ingredients accurately.
• Reduce waste through correct utilisation of ingredients and equipment.
• Strictly follow approved production recipes at all times.

Sales & Customer Service

• Attend to customer orders efficiently and within required timelines.

Stock Control

• Rotate stock continuously using the FIFO principle.
• Participate in stocktakes as required and maintain QDVP4 standards.

Housekeeping, Health & Safety

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene.
• Ensure ovens, equipment, and machinery are operated safely and cleaned after use.
• Switch off all electrical appliances at close of business.
• Ensure all work areas are clean and hygienic (“clean as you go”).

General & Ad Hoc

• Maintain confidentiality of company documents and trade secrets.
• Assist in other bakery or store areas when required.
• Attend meetings, training sessions, workshops, and stocktakes as scheduled.
• Comply with all company standards, policies, and procedures.
