PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

 

To prepare, operate and maintain the A3 Flex UHT filling equipment (Helix, Cardboard Packer and Cap Applicator), Tetra Pak TR28 filling equipment,  Filmatic filling equipment, including the Ozonator, as well as UHT Processing equipment by performing fault finding activities, applying preventative measures and performing proper record keeping, to ensure that the equipment functions fully in order to achieve daily production plans, reducing filler waste and continuously improving team and filler performance; in adherence to Food Safety Standards, FIFO and Namibia Dairies Quality standards.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

 

•    Grade 12 
•    Basic Electrical Certificate 
•    5 Years’ technical experience in a food production environment 

 


KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

 

•    Check that CIP and COP have been done on the machine according to operating manual – take samples to the lab. 
•    Check plant sterility at start up and maintain during the processing stage 
•    Sanitise machine (A3 FLEX), Sanitise Aseptic tank, Sanitise VTIS, Sanitise production lines 
•    Start-up and set up printers with correct Best before dates 
•    Start-up Helix, Start-up and fill hot melt, start-up cap applicator unit, Start-up cardboard packer  
•    Perform operator quality checks as per procedure and Operator Manual. 
•    Perform test run on the lines and take sample to lab for verification 
•    Prepare to control UHT liquid milk processing, intermediate storage and filling/packaging equipment and associated compliance documentation 
•    Check organisational standard operating procedures and product recipes relating to the production schedule 
•    Check that all necessary plant, equipment, plans for production, ingredients and services are available and fit for use 
•    Take representative samples for testing adhering to organisational sampling 
•    Prepare for changeover of product recipe or packaging in line with organisational requirements 
•    Deal with product waste efficiently and effectively in line with legislation and organisational requirements – implement plan of actions to reduce and address filler waste 
•    Operate machine as outlined in the Tetra Pak operator manual 
•    Perform package integrity checks as stipulated in Operator Manual 
•    Adhere to sampling plan as per operator manual and as required by quality  
•    Regular weight checks to be executed as per operator manual  
•    Handle and pack finished products as per work instruction  
•    CIP all equipment as per operator manual and work instruction 
•    Take CIP solution samples during CIP and submit to Laboratory for test/verification 
•    Operate machine as outlined in the Tetra Pak operator manual 
•    Perform package integrity checks as stipulated in Operator Manual 
•    Adhere to sampling plan as per operator manual and as required by quality
