PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

 

To lead Hartlief’s food safety and quality assurance programs, ensuring consistent compliance with regulatory standards, customer requirements, and company policies, while driving continuous improvement and strategic alignment.

 

KEY JOB OUTPUTS:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA and food safety strategies, policies, and standards (HACCP, SABS, PRPs, regulatory compliance).
  • Oversee audits, inspections, traceability, risk assessments, recalls, and supplier quality management.
  • Monitor product quality, investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  • Verify and release raw materials, ingredients, and recipes against specifications.
  • Provide training, reports, and recommendations to ensure quality awareness and compliance.
  • Lead the QA team by setting KPIs, managing performance, enforcing discipline, and driving staff development.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, and continuous process improvement.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

 

  • 4-year Bachelors’ Degree in Food Science/Food Technology
  • 8-10 years of experience in a Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory area.
  • Code B Driver’s License
  • Experience working in a meat or FMCG industry will be an added advantage
