Purpose

 

To ensure that all products, processes, and services meet established quality, food safety, and regulatory standards, thereby protecting the organisation’s reputation and enhancing customer experience. The role supports operational excellence through quality control systems, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Assurance, Quality Management or related field
  • 3–6 years’ relevant experience in quality assurance, compliance, retail, or production environments
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel

 

Advantageous

 

  • Certifications in HSSE, OHSA, or Food Safety
  • Experience in retail or food production environments
  • Knowledge of auditing, regulatory compliance, and quality systems
  • Exposure to supplier quality management and inspections

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain quality control systems across operations
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance
  • Manage certifications, licences, and regulatory documentation

 

Food Safety & Hygiene Management

  • Coordinate food safety audits and training programmes
  • Monitor non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain cold chain integrity and product traceability
  • Support product recalls and risk mitigation initiatives

 

Assessments, Inspections & Audits

  • Conduct routine inspections and quality assessments
  • Compile reports and track corrective and preventative actions
  • Analyse trends and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence

 

HSSE & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental standards
  • Conduct site inspections and incident investigations
  • Oversee hygiene, pest control, cleaning, and safety systems

 

Customer Experience & Continuous Improvement

  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to quality and food safety
  • Promote a culture of quality and excellence across operations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams

 

Training & Development

  • Train and upskill store teams on quality standards, SOPs, and compliance
  • Incorporate audit findings and lessons learned into training programmes
