PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the products produced in the Factory are of high quality and that the whole production process is in compliance with HACCAP standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

• Food Science Degree
• 1-2 years’ experience in an FMCG environment
• Sound knowledge of HACCP and GMP
• Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel) 

KEY JOB OUTPUTS:

• Quality control checks on the following items: Hygiene on employees, factory and equipment, Hygiene checks on Ablution Blocks (inspections). 
• Quality control checks on Temperature, Packaging material, Raw Product, Final Product, Raw material – evaluation, Frozen Products, General and Date Checks, Spot Checks, Give on-the-job training, CCP control, complete cooking and fermentation forms
• Check that the packaging material used are clean and not damaged or out of specifications
• Report all deficiencies to the production supervisors for corrective action and take records thereof
• Record and report products that are out of specifications to Supervisor
• Check that the product processed are as per product specifications
• Check that the temperature on the product is as per set standard
• Check the grading on the products
• Keep record of all inspections
• Report any deficiencies to the production supervisor
• The production supervisor must sign on the completed report for the day for acknowledgement and forward that report to the Quality Control Supervisor by close of business
• Check that the products are at the correct temperature
• Also check the temperature levels in the:
  • Chiller
  • Blast freezers
  • Cold Storage
• The products and report deficiencies with immediate effect
• Record all findings on temperature checks during the course of the day
• Forward reports to the Quality Control Supervisor by the end of shift
• Forward the report to the Quality Supervisor by the end of shift
• Add other Ad Hoc Tests
