Purpose of Position:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing sales within a designated region by executing national sales strategies, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring the effectiveness of cold chain distribution processes.
The Regional Sales Manager leads the regional sales team to deliver on volume, value, market share, and profitability targets, while upholding the brand and service standards of the business.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field
- 8 Years experience in FMCG sales with at least 3 years in a regional sales role
- Proven success in cold chain or temperature-sensitive product environments
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and dealing with retail/distributor networks
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Sales Strategy Execution - Implement the national sales strategy in the region, tailoring plans to local market conditions. Develop regional strategies to achieve sales strategy and monthly targets. Analyze sales data, trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth.
Team Leadership and Development - Lead and manage a team of Area Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and Merchandisers by setting performance objectives, conducting regular reviews, and implementing development plans.
Customer Relationship Management - Build and maintain relationships with key regional customers including wholesalers, retailers, and food service providers. Oversee pricing negotiations, trade agreements and promotional activity execution.
Cold Chain and Operational Excellence - Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure cold chain integrity across the distribution process. Address regional operational challenges impacting product quality, delivery timelines, and availability.
Market Development and Expansion - Identify new business opportunities, route-to-market improvements, and market expansion areas. Conduct competitor analysis and provide market intelligence to the National Sales Manager.
Reporting and Administration - Provide timely and accurate sales reports, forecasts, and market insights. Monitor and manage regional budgets and promotional spending.
