Job Title: Security Engineer (L2)
Purpose of the Position
Mach 10 (Pty) Ltd is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Security Engineer (L2) to join our high-performing team based at our Head Office in Windhoek. This full-time role is ideal for a security professional ready to take their career to the next level in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. As a Security Engineer (L2), you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s security technologies, including Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Check Point solutions. You will play a key role in implementing Zero Trust frameworks, managing SIEM platforms, and responding to Security incidents to protect our enterprise infrastructure.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Fortinet NSE 4 or NSE 5
- CCNA Security or equivalent
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, or other recognized security certification
Experience Required
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in network/security engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet solutions (especially FortiGate, EMS, Centralized Management System Developed)
- Familiarity with Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, and Check Point
- Understanding of secure networking, firewall policies, NAT, VPN, and endpoint integration
- Preferred certifications such as NSE 6/7, CISSP, CCNP Security, or PCNSE will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and advanced threat protection (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point)
- Implement and maintain Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) using Fortinet EMS
- Monitor security logs and respond to incidents via SIEM platforms.
- Deploy and optimize SD-WAN solutions
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and create technical documentation
