PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

To conceptualize and, through creative thinking and visual expertise, produce innovative ideas that communicate brand stories, messages and concepts with strong visual impact. The Senior Art Director plays a key role in transforming strategic objectives into compelling visual campaigns across all media platforms, including online, through-the-line (TTL) advertising, print, outdoor, exhibitions, activations and corporate communications.

This role combines hands-on creative execution with leadership in design direction, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of creativity, brand alignment and strategic intent.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Art Direction or Creative Brand Communication.
  • 10 years’ advertising agency art direction experience.
  • Knowledge of ATL, BTL and digital marketing.
  • Fully Mac literate.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional, Premiere Pro or After Effects, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Concept Development


Collaborate with the team and client to understand the creative brief and objectives.
Develop and present visual concepts that align with the project’s goals and brand direction.

 

Creative Execution:


• Produce outstanding creative work including design, layouts and digital executions that meet brand and campaign standards.
• Plan and direct photo and video shoots, ensuring accurate information is provided for final production of artwork.
• Present creative concepts to clients and stakeholders, and execute all final artwork for production.

 

Collaboration:


• Work closely with writers, photographers, illustrators, videographers and other creative professionals to deliver cohesive campaigns.
• Partner with the Account Management team to respond to briefs and obtain relevant information from clients.
• Manage own workload effectively to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

 

Leadership:


• Guide and mentor the junior design team to maintain creative standards.

• Oversee all creative output to ensure that it is correct, in line with our brand strategy and meets objectives.
• Stay current with design trends, media platforms and emerging creative technologies and share these learnings with the broader team in the spirit of constant learning.
• Uphold the agency’s creative vision and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
