PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To achieve the HL production plan targets, by executing production operations in accordance to recipes, set procedures and work instructions, efficient utilization of machinery/equipment, supervising timeous preparation of raw material and accurate stock control while adhering to Health & Safety and Quality standards/specifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- Grade 12 with pass marks in Mathematics and Science
- 2 years’ experience in a similar position
KEY JOB OUTPUTS:
- Complete machinery preventative maintenance, start-up, and changeover checklists before production and report any faults to the Manager Production or Technical Department.
- Request, receive, and verify meat, spices, and other raw materials in line with the production plan and prescribed recipes, ensuring accuracy of quantities.
- Supervise preparation, sorting, and weighing of meat and products, recording all data accurately and submitting documentation for system capturing.
- Coordinate daily production operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
- Conduct random machine efficiency inspections and report shortcomings or deviations.
- Maintain high product quality by adhering to company standards and completing required quality checklists.
- Identify and report faults or quality issues on raw materials, casings, and finished products to relevant personnel.
- Manage stock receiving, storing, and issuing processes daily to minimize stock variances and ensure FIFO principles are applied.
- Plan, supervise, and perform stock counts; investigate discrepancies and report findings to management.
- Verify system-issued stock against physically received stock in coordination with relevant departments.
- Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing, Hygiene, and Health & Safety Practices, as well as cold chain regulations.
- Enforce PPE use among all processing staff, perform random checks, and ensure full compliance with hygiene standards and sanitation procedures.
- Supervise cleaning of machinery, equipment, and work areas, ensuring all systems and utilities are properly shut down at the end of operations.
- Monitor compliance with Health & Safety standards to achieve required audit results.
- Allocate and supervise daily activities and tasks for the processing team, ensuring progress and efficiency.
- Conduct weekly operational meetings with subordinates to review performance and address issues.
- Assist with managing attendance, overtime, and leave planning for processing staff.
- Apply disciplinary measures in accordance with company policies and participate in recruitment processes when required.
- Conduct on-the-job training for staff, complete relevant documentation, and submit to the Manager Production.
