PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Maximize utilisation of specialised food manufacturing equipment and machinery by maintaining upstream and downstream systems, developing technical employees, implementing preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and costs, driving innovation to improve operational efficiency and establishing sustainable in-house work instructions and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- National Diploma in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)
- Specialized training in FMCG - related Machinery and Equipment
- 8 years’ experience in FMCG environment, maintaining, fault-finding and servicing specialised Machinery and Equipment
KEY JOB OUTPUTS:
- Plan and execute preventive, routine and breakdown maintenance on specialised machineray and equipment in line with OEM SOPs.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, PLC and automation faults within agreed turnaround times.
- Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to reduce downtime, waste and improve plant efficiency.
- Perform equipment inspections, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives on production lines.
- Maintain and update PLC programs, HMI parameters, backups and calibration records.
- Create and manage work orders, spare parts and maintenance activities via SAP PM.
- Provide technical support to production and shift teams, including rapid response to call-outs.
- Identify and implement cost-saving and reliability improvement solutions.
- Manage contractors and suppliers, providing technical input for RFQs and procurement.
- Execute asset management, new installations and capital projects within approved budgets.
- Prepare and submit accurate maintenance reports and KPIs to support decision-making.
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP, SHE, OSH, ISO and 5S standards, including audit participation.
- Investigate quality complaints and implement corrective actions with production teams.
- Identify, report and mitigate safety risks and incidents, ensuring safe maintenance practices.
- Lead the O&L Persona, train and motivate warehouse and dispatch employees, fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.
