PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Technical Manager will be responsible for providing end‑to‑end technical leadership across renewable energy projects, including greenfield development, design and engineering, EPC execution, asset optimisation, and long-term operational performance. The role spans solar PV, hybrid systems, biomass, and energy storage solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in renewable energy or power generation.
- Proven experience in EPC project delivery and/or IPP asset management.
- Solid exposure to C&I renewable energy projects and grid-connected systems.
- Experience with hybrid systems, diesel/grid-supported solutions, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Exposure to project finance, technical due diligence, and lender requirements (advantageous).
- Professional registration will be an added advantage.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Act as the technical authority for all renewable energy projects within the utility and C&I sectors.
- Review, approve, and optimise power plant designs, system architectures, and equipment selection.
- Provide technical input during early-stage project development, including site assessments, yield analysis, grid studies, and feasibility assessments.
- Oversee EPC project execution, ensuring quality, compliance, cost control, and timely delivery.
- Lead commissioning, testing, and plant handover processes.
- Oversee technical performance, availability, and reliability of operational IPP assets.
- Drive performance optimisation, fault analysis, and lifecycle asset management.
- Ensure compliance with grid codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Act as the primary technical interface with EPCs, OEMs, utilities, regulators, financiers, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide structured technical reporting to executive management and investment committees.
