PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  

 

To perform high quality coded welding and fabrication work throughout the year, ensuring structural integrity, safety, and compliance with welding codes and operational standards in support of plant reliability and project requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

 

•    Grade 12 
•    Trade Certificate with valid coded welding qualifications
•    Certifications for relevant welding processes (e.g., ARC, TIG, MIG)
•    3–5 years’ industrial welding experience (preferred)

 

KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

 

•    Carry out coded welding using approved procedures  and certified techniques.
•    Perform fabrication, repair, and modification of structural steel, piping, and equipment.
•    Ensure all welds meet specified quality, strength, and dimensional requirements.
•    Adhere strictly to welding codes, specifications, and quality procedures.
•    Conduct self inspection of completed welds prior to formal inspection.
•    Support inspections, testing, and certification processes as required.
•    Respond to fabrication and welding requirements during breakdowns, shutdowns, and maintenance activities.
•    Assist in preventive maintenance programs involving welded components.
•    Support plant shutdowns and annual maintenance projects.
•    Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
•    Use correct PPE and follow safe welding and cutting practices.
•    Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.
•    Ensure safety documentation are in place for all work
•    Record welding activities, materials used, and job completion details.
•    Report defects, deviations, or material issues to the Supervisor.
