Role Purpose

To provide comprehensive, proactive and dynamic support to the Learning & Development Specialist. Coordinate and support the design, development and implementation of training programmes, learning materials, and L&D policies to enhance organisational capability in line with the O&L Leisure Learning & Development strategy

 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Advanced National Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in Learning & Development, with at least 2 years’ proven exposure to training material development, program coordination, and execution of L&D interventions.
  • Strong MS Office proficiency (particularly PowerPoint and Word) for developing high-quality professional training materials
  • Experience using competency and capability assessment instruments.
  • Knowledge of the NTA Levy Process will be an advantage.
  • Experience in the hospitality/tourism sector, especially culinary or academy programmes, will be a strong advantage.
  • Learning Management System developing and managing is an added advantage

 

Key Deliverables

Learning Content Development & Facilitation
  • Support the L&D Specialist in designing, developing and continuously updating training materials (facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentations, job aids, assessments, and e-learning content)
  • Translate complex hospitality concepts into accessible, practical, and immersive learning experiences by applying adult learning principles
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and the L&D Specialist to ensure content relevance and quality 

 

Training Coordination, Recordkeeping & Reporting              

  • Coordinate logistics for training programs across all properties
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping, documentation, ensuring all training activities are tracked and expenses are accurately reported         
  • Drive data integrity by compiling and preparing detailed inputs for critical reports, including BL reports, quarterly training summaries and mandatory NTA submissions

 

Talent Development & Process Improvement 
  • Support internal talent development programs including the Understudy Development Program, Emerging Talent initiatives and Succession Planning    
  • Provide operational support for onboarding and employee engagement projects (including O&L World)  
  • Ensure compliance with O&L Group Learning & Development standards and any other relevant Namibian legislation (including the Vocational Education and Training Act)
